Dyke Christian of Dyke and The Blazers was shot and killed today (March 13th 1971) in his car in Phoenix, Arizona. Dyke, 27, was killed by a character named One Eyed Clancy who Dyke owed money to for heroin.

Dyke and The Blazers are best known for their hit record “Funky Broadway.” According to sources Dyke could not leave his old acquaintances from the streets behind and over time developed, a heroin addiction.
