Soul singer Wilson Pickett was indicted today (February 6, 1975), over a shooting incident involving The Isley Brothers.
Wilson Pickett and The Isley Brothers had gone on a hunting trip in Andes, New York, when the incident occurred in December of 1975.
According to police reports, the singer was extremely drunk when he began causing a disturbance in The Andes Hotel.
Rudolph and O’Kelly Isley, along with two other men, attempted to calm the singer down by taking him into a parking lot.
As they attempted to calm the “Wicked” Wilson Pickett, a scuffle ensued between the men.
The Isley Brothers and the two unidentified men went into a hotel room, and locked the door.
But moments later an angry Wilson Pickett fired through the door, with a .38 caliber two shot Derringer.
Police arrested Wilson Pickett and charged him with first-degree reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a dangerous weapon.
He was released on $500 bail.
