CBS International Records announced the launch of Philadelphia International Records in the United Kingdom and Europe today (November 3, 1973).
The President of CBS International at the time was Walter Yetnikoff, who was one of the industry’s brightest minds.
Yetnikoff to launch Philadelphia International records with a massive promotional campaign throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, with posters logos blow ups and stickers.
The first releases in the United Kingdom in Europe from Philadelphia International were LPs and singles by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Billy Paul, The O’Jays, MFSB and the legendary Intruders, who started a tour of Holland, France, Germany and the UK later that month, in the same year.
