Pop singer Michael Jackson celebrated Mother’s Day with his mom Katherine, by giving her a new shiny red Rolls-Royce today (May 12, 1984.)
Michael Jackson was celebrating Mother’s Day, as well as the birthday of Katherine Jackson, who was born on May 4, 1930.
Michael delivered the pricey luxury car during a celebration at the Bistro Gardens restaurant in Beverly Hills.
When Katherine went outside of the restaurant, she was presented with the red Rolls-Royce, which had a white bow tie on the top.
According to those who were in attendance that night, Katherine was “very touched” by Michael’s gesture.
Michael’s generosity came as the Jacksons were gearing up for their “Victory Tour,” which featured all of the Jackson brothers, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy and Michael.
Michael Jackson was also riding high off of the success of his album Thriller, which had already earned him 140 gold and platinum awards by 1984.
