LOU RAWLS RELEASED FROM JAIL AFTER ASSAULTING HIS GIRLFRIEND

Smooth singing artist Lou Rawls was released from an Albuquerque, New Mexico jail today (January 16, 2002), after assaulting his girlfriend.

The incident unfolded the previous evening, in a room in the Wyndham Hotel, where Rawls and his girlfriend Nina Inman we’re staying.

At some point the pair became involved in a squabble that resulted in Lou Rawls allegedly pulling Inman’s hair and pushing her to the ground.

Lou Rawls was booked into the Bernalillo County Detention Center around 11:30 and was released the following day.

The singer was in the area performing a string of dates at various casinos when the assault occurred.

Lou Rawls was officially charged with battery on a household member.
