Jimi Hendrix and The Experience hosted their final performance today (February 24, 1969).
The group’s final show took place at Royal Albert Hall, in the United Kingdom.
The Royal Albert Hall performance was documented for a movie titled “Experience,” which was never released.
A dispute broke out over the rights to the Royal Albert Hall recordings, which took place over 40 years ago.
In 2011, Jimi Hendrix Estate filed a lawsuit against two individuals over the performance, claiming the rights to the material.
But it seems that Jimi Hendrix signed an agreement with the producers of the Royal Albert Hall concert granting them legal rights, for a future movie.
The Jimi Hendrix Estate hopes to gain control over the material, according to the $3 million lawsuit.
