The tour was sponsored by Phillip Morris Nigeria and consisted of five one night engagements.
James Brown hit Lagos, Ibaden, Benin and Kaduna and performed the one-nighter’s with his full orchestra.
Directly after the Nigerian tour, James Brown was booked to play a three day engagement in Zambia, in Lusaka and Kitwe.
It was James Brown’s second tour of Africa by 1970.
Two years earlier, James Brown performed for his fans on the Ivory Coast.
Four years later in 1974, James hosted a famous concert in Zaire.
