Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley were secretly married today (May 26, 1994), in the Dominican Republic.
The couple originally met in 1974, with Michael Jackson was just 16-years old, via her father, Elvis.
He was introduced to Lisa Marie at the MGM Grand Hotel, where she was surrounded by bodyguards, as The Jackson 5 performed on the strip.
After years of lost communication, the pair reunited in November 1992, in Los Angeles, at a private dinner of a mutual friend.
Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley developed a strong bond as Michael Jackson toured as part of the “Dangerous World Tour.”
And although Michael Jackson’s world would be rocked by allegations of child sexual abuse, as well as his growing addiction to pain killers, they became engaged, after he presented Presley with a 10 carat ring.
Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley were married by Judge Hugo Francisco Alvarez Perez at his home in the La Vega province of the Dominican Republic.
The ceremony, which was 15 minutes long, was kept secret from The Jackson family, as well as Priscilla Presley and her family.
