October 11, 1917- Jazz Pioneer Thelonious Monk was born, and would later be the forefather of Be-Bop Jazz.

October 11, 1952- Lloyd Price’s second single became a two-sided hit when “oooh, oooh, oooh” reached #4 r&b and the flip, “Restless Heart” reached #5

Oct. 11, 1969- Muddy Waters was critically injured in a  car crash in Illinois, but would recover to record and perform again.

October 11, 1975- Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder perform at the National Arena in Kingston, with a special version of “I Shot the Sherrif” with Stevie Wonder on KeyBoards.

October 11, 1986- Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson become the first siblings in the rock era to have solo #1’s. Janet “When I think of You” and Michael Jackson’s first solo #1 was “Ben”
