BROOK BENTON’S HOUSE ROBBED WHILE SINGER TOURS

Singer Brook Benton was relieved of numerous valuable items today (May 14, 1961), when his house on Long Island was robbed.

Brook Benton had taken up residence in the St. Albans area, and it was in this residence that the famous singer was burglarized as he performed a spot date in Washington DC, before heading off to Europe.

The bandits managed to get away with Brook Benton’s entire wardrobe, as well as camera equipment.

All told, the singer lost about $7,000 worth of valuables in the burglary.
