Today (January 18, 2010) the United States observes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy with a national holiday.

Dr. King was born on January 15, 1929 and assassinated at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968.

Wilson Pickett at MLK Tribute

A group of soul musicians performed at a concert hosted by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) tonight (January 15, 1973) to pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The 2nd Annual concert was turned into an album titled Keep the Dream Alive, a double album that featured Soul Artists, Gospel singers and poets, who paid homage to the slain civil rights leader. (continue reading RareSoul.com)...
