Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. appeared on The Mike Douglas Show in 1967, to discuss his opinions on civil rights, the black man’s role in Vietnam, and his view on the war in general.

During the discussion, Mike Douglas and legendary singer Tony Martin, who was also a guest, grilled Dr. King, who answered every question in an eloquent, peaceful manner.

At the time, more than 4 out of 5 black people believed that Dr. King’s nonviolent movement did more for the race, than any other movement.
